So I'm not a fan of balloons at adult parties but I have no problem with them being at 1st birthday parties. And this invitation is so flippin' adorable. I think I would even let it pass for a non-kiddie birthday. A baby shower would also be the perfect place for this little cutie.Thursday, July 22, 2010

In less than two months, our best friends in San Diego are getting married. I am so lucky that they let me totally crash their party and help with the design and planning. It is going to be a gorgeous wedding at the Marston House and Old Venice Restaurant. Not only that, two of my other dear friends - Noa of Feather Love and Jenna of flutter glass - will be capturing the events of the day! Jenna took the happy couple to Old Town a few weeks ago and really caught something special. I might be a little biased since they are all my friends but I just think these are the sweetest photos ever. No crazy pops or styling just sweet, simple love. I can't get over them!

Viva Love!
I am slowly getting over muted pastels, grays and beige and have been craving bursts of color. Loving those pink flamingos!

Our Davina + Daniel photos on A Classic Bride

{photo by davina + daniel}
You're probably sick of looking at our mugs but classic bride just posted some pics from our night out with davina + daniel a few months back.
Viva Pops!

Forget tiers. Forget cupcakes. I want to see popsicles at the next event I go to! And not just any popsicles. Viva Pops! This is the most AMAZING frozen dessert I have ever had in my life. I tried out the lavender lemonade pop at a killer event put on by Casa Artelexia and Sitting in a Tree Events. We were drooling over these babies all night. They are made with local and natural ingredients from San Diego farms. I am going tomorrow to try out the Mango Chili! You can rent a cart for your next event! It has been toasty the past few days here so I'm sure any guest would appreciate the cool down at a summer wedding in San Diego!

Punk Rock Heck Yeah

I can't believe I have just found out about the DC-based Punk Rock Bride! These dresses are HOT. Man, I loved my wedding dress to pieces but the gown above is just to die for.
I'm loving their design philosophy - "Punk Rock Bride was created to offer brides an alternative to the traditional wedding dress. We take a unique approach by incorporating non-traditional fabrics and mixing multiple layers to add texture and depth to every design. We take care to maintain very simple, classic silhouettes to flatter every figure, and focus on the details, giving brides a comfortable, fashion-forward option for their wedding day."
PLUS, each dress is designed and manufactured in the US which is kind of hard to find these days.
