Inspired Creations Contest

I created this little California gypsy-inspired board for our photoshoot.

PS: I don't know why my picture credits keep getting all wonky but the bottom right photo is actually from the Bash, Please shoot at Once Wed. I need to give those girls the proper recognition because they inspire me every day!

The Love Spot and DIY Guest Book

Some more eye candy from the shoot is up on The Sweetest Occasion!
We created a love spot tucked away in the wildflower fields for our beautiful couple.

We created an alternative to the traditional guest book and an easy DIY project to recreate. All the instructions are up on The Sweetest Occasion.

The Style: Emilia Keene-Kendrick of Sweet Emilia Jane & Erin Lepperd of Erin Ever After
The Dress: Courtney Cole of The White Flower – Bridal Boutique
The Photos: flutter glass Photography
The Hairpieces: Lo Boheme
The Models: Brian Block and Anastasiia Russell

Inspired Creations Contest Photo Shoot

I am beyond thrilled to finally be able to share the super secret project I was working on with flutter glass photography, Erin Ever After and The White Flower Boutique. Our entry for the Inspired Creations contest at The Sweetest Occasion and Elizabeth Anne Designs is up and I could not be happier with how everything turned out. We had such an amazing time running through the fields and playing in the woods during this shoot. It definitely felt like a gypsy caravan wedding and our inner bohemians were singing!

We wanted to create a bohemian affair with touches inspired by the state symbols of California. Inspired by the vibrant oranges of the California poppy, we incorporated a mix of bright and bold wild flowers with beautiful coral peonies and snapdragons.

Feathers, like those found on the California Quail, were a big part of the design and used as centerpieces, table setting decor and in the bouquets and boutonnieres.

Erin had the idea for the cocktail table with cute straws and mouthwatering fruit to decorate the blood orange champagne punch. Hand stamped tags with guests' names were placed on each drink stirrer.

To continue the natural vibe, we used various sized bark tubes to house the flowers. The other decor - tables, vases, dinnerware, etc. - all came from our personal collections (the booze and berry table is my kitchen table!).

I found this gorgeous Ikat fabric and made the seat cushions (now pillows on my couch - I love them!) and table runner. I also wrapped the bouquets and boutonnieres in it. I even made our (handsome) groom a bow tie!

Stay tuned! There is even more to come and I will be posting more pics throughout the week.

Sometimes I Wish we were an Eagle

Another one of my boards was chosen for a Style Me Pretty shoot! This one totally took my breath away. I'm in love with the hair pieces and the sweet, simple vibe. It's so crazy how spot on the design is compared to what I had in my mind initially! Hello...bohemian feel with French flourishes...you are speaking my language!

OK, this is really weird. How did Design*Sponge and I both have prisms on the brain at the same time??? Check out these wedding prisms by the wild unknown (yes...the very same from my inspiration board yesterday!). I want to see these bad boys in action. Who's with me?!
