The Floral Lab in Exquisite Weddings

Last month, the latest issue of Exquisite Weddings came out and a bouquet I made (#7) for The Floral Lab was featured!  The totally rad chicas from Joielala shot these pretty, pretty photos!

PS: The bouquet that we're so lucky to be featured next to belongs to Modern Bouquet.

Pow Wow Vintage

{photos by Katie Neal Photo}

I can't get over the treasures that Pow Wow Vintage has in their collection.  Melissa from Pow Wow knocked our leather boots off with everything she brought down (100 flights of stairs) to our gypsy shoot.  She is a rock star and ridiculously rad.  If you need mismatched china or some killer antique furniture or an antler or two then head over to her vintage palace!  Oh yeah and she also rents out succulents!  What?  Seriously, she's awesome.

Gypsy Punk Wedding

I've been kind of walking around in a haze of wonder all week after seeing the gypsy shoot I put together with Sitting in a Tree + Katie Neal Photo up on 100 Layer Cake AND Green Wedding Shoes. This is my favorite thing that I've ever worked on.  It was also a lot of work (we had to carry everything down 100 steps of stairs to this little beach...and then back up) but mostly just good times hanging out with some crazy talented folks.  Here are a few of my favmcfav shots from Miss Katie who is just a dream.

Utterly Engaged!

I have been waiting (not quite patiently) for the latest issue of Utterly Engaged BECAUSE we have big features in it!  Not only did they ask me to be a part of their Fresh Vendor series but the super rad, cheeky modern photo shoot that I worked on with Kira Grinberg (along with a few other crazy talented folks!) is featured in it!

I'll share more pictures from the shoot tomorrow but for now head on over to Utterly Engaged!!!

Real Wedding: Sarah + Charlie

Yay! I can finally share the photos from Sarah and Charlie's wedding!  They were featured on Ruffled yesterday so go check it out!  Feather Love took the super rad photos from the ceremony and flutter glass captured all the details and dancing at the reception!

 We placed mason jars filled with flowers on some of the aisle chairs.  On the others we made paper cones from old pages of books and filled them with dried rose petals for tossing.

 The Marston House is such a tranquil and lovely setting for a ceremony.

{photos by feather love}

 We moved to Old Venice Restaurant in Point Loma for the reception.  This a hidden gem for intimate wedding receptions in San Diego.  They are so accommodating and sweet and the food is to-die-for!

Sarah's mom shipped over vintage milk bottles from neighboring farms in her home town and we filled those with seasonal flowers.

 Sarah and Charlie love to read so we incorporated vintage books from their collection into the table decor.

We covered a corkboard with pages from old books for the escort display.  Jaime from Cactus + Quail designed all the paper goods as well as the stamps that we used on the escort envelopes and place cards.

 Totally yummy desserts from Cafe Zucchero in Little Italy!

Online Planning

{nothing to do with Online Planning...I just like it...from Davina + Daniel}

I have decided to add another customizable package to my Event and Planning Design Services. It seems like so many people prefer to work by email now especially if they are planning a destination wedding or just can't find the time to go to wedding planning meetings on top of their already super busy schedules. Online Planning is a new tool that can help Internet-savvy couples, couples with a small budget or couples planning from afar get the help and guidance that they need without spending extra time or money.

Take a looksie at my services (new and old). They can all be personalized for the perfect fit!

The Floral Lab

I just have to give a shout out and some love to my HITCHED Event partner - The Floral Lab. Leigh-Anne is super sweet and ridiculously talented. Her floral designs are truly works of art and I am so privileged to have her on my team for the event. I can't wait to see what she comes up with for our table. Check out her portfolio and blog for some delicious floral eye candy!

Oh! And if you haven't bought your HITCHED tickets do it fast because there are only a handful left! This is going to be the event of the year, folks!

Vintage Engagement Session from Captured by Aimee

A few weeks ago my beautiful and talented friend Aimee of Captured by Aimee asked if I had any vintage props for an engagement session she was shooting that weekend. I sent her over my brass love birds and the love sign from our own wedding. I also whipped up some colorful pinwheels and ribbon wands. I just adore the end result. I might love the props that this super adorable couple brought along (the blanket, heart wreath and save-the-date signs) more than mine!

Viva Pops!

Forget tiers. Forget cupcakes. I want to see popsicles at the next event I go to! And not just any popsicles. Viva Pops! This is the most AMAZING frozen dessert I have ever had in my life. I tried out the lavender lemonade pop at a killer event put on by Casa Artelexia and Sitting in a Tree Events. We were drooling over these babies all night. They are made with local and natural ingredients from San Diego farms. I am going tomorrow to try out the Mango Chili! You can rent a cart for your next event! It has been toasty the past few days here so I'm sure any guest would appreciate the cool down at a summer wedding in San Diego!

{photo of the host drinking some mimosa out of a baby bottle with a barber straw!}

I got to design and plan a baby shower this yesterday. It was pretty darn cute if I do say so myself. And teeny tiny baby clothes are the most adorable things I have ever seen!

The Condor's Nest Ranch

I have been venue hunting and I came across this INSANE spot outside of San Diego. I WILL do anything to coordinate a wedding here. ANYthing! There are incredible vintage paintings, a vintage trailer, antlers, a green house, succulents, llamas, dogs, horses...this is my own personal heaven!!! If I were a venue...I would be the Condor's Nest Ranch.

The talented Apertura Photography frequents this venue often.

This wedding featured on Green Wedding Shoes is just gorgeous.

And loooving this one shot by Daisy Varley.

Inspiration Board: My Bohemian Wedding

Bohemia

{click for credits}
Here is a little inspiration board for myself. I like to organize my tumblr photos into cohesive boards. I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to bring this one to life in July for our wedding. Perhaps a fog machine?

San Diego Venue: Summer Pasts Weddings

Will someone please get married here and let me help plan it and hire Noa to photograph it please!? I have been wanting to get out to Summer Pasts Farms to check out their lavender gardens for awhile but just haven't had the chance to do it. Now that the weather is getting gorgeous again I think I'll have to find some excuse to get up there! I'll tell you all about it when I do! For now, just feast your eyes on these images.
And look at all their animals!!!
